Disclaimer
BTCCalc calculators are for informational purposes only and are not financial, tax, or investment advice. Read our full disclaimer before making decisions based on our tools.
Not financial advice
Nothing on BTCCalc constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The calculators on this site (mortgage, loan, retirement, budget, tax, and crypto calculators) produce estimates based on the numbers you enter and standard financial formulas. They are educational tools, not a substitute for advice from a licensed financial advisor, accountant, or attorney.
Estimates, not guarantees
Every calculator on this site makes simplifying assumptions. For example:
- Mortgage and loan calculators assume a fixed rate and standard amortization. They do not model rate changes, prepayment penalties, or every fee a specific lender might charge.
- Retirement and investment calculators assume a constant rate of return. Real markets are volatile, and actual returns will differ – sometimes substantially – from any single projected number.
- Tax calculators use simplified brackets and standard deductions. They do not account for every credit, deduction, state-specific rule, or life circumstance that could change your actual tax liability.
- Crypto calculators (mining profitability, DCA, capital gains) rely on inputs like electricity cost, network difficulty, or price history that change constantly. Historical or current figures do not predict future performance.
Cryptocurrency risk
Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile. Mining profitability, DCA projections, and any other crypto-related output on this site can change dramatically based on market price, network difficulty, and electricity costs – all of which are outside our control and outside the calculator’s ability to predict. Never make an investment decision based solely on a calculator result.
No liability for decisions made
You are solely responsible for any financial, investment, or tax decisions you make. BTCCalc, its operators, and contributors accept no liability for losses or damages arising from reliance on any calculator, comparison table, or written content on this site.
Accuracy effort
We verify our formulas against known reference values and test edge cases before publishing a calculator. If you find a calculation that appears incorrect, please tell us via the Contact page – we investigate every report.
When to consult a professional
For decisions with significant financial consequences – buying a home, refinancing debt, planning retirement withdrawals, filing taxes, or making a large crypto trade – consult a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or attorney who can account for your complete financial picture.
