About BTCCalc

BTCCalc builds free, browser-based calculators for loans, mortgages, retirement, budgeting, and crypto. No signup, no ads, no tracking -- every calculation runs on your device.

Why BTCCalc exists

Most financial calculators online are either locked behind a lead-gen form, cluttered with ads, or hide the formula so you can’t verify the number yourself. BTCCalc is the opposite: every calculator is free, runs entirely in your browser, and shows you the underlying math so you know exactly how the result was produced.

We built this site because we kept needing the same thing ourselves – a quick, accurate answer to “what will this loan actually cost me” or “how much Bitcoin do I actually have after fees” – without wading through a page of banner ads to get it.

What we cover

BTCCalc focuses on two areas rather than trying to be a general-purpose tool directory:

  • Personal finance calculators – mortgages, loans, retirement, budgeting, credit card payoff, tax estimates, and salary/paycheck math. The everyday numbers that drive real decisions.
  • Bitcoin and crypto calculators – DCA planning, mining profitability, cost-basis and capital-gains estimates, and BTC/USD conversions. The math that most exchanges and wallets don’t show you directly.
  • Currency converters – major pairs (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, and more) with context on fees and spreads, not just a raw exchange rate.

How we build a calculator

Every calculator on this site goes through the same process before it’s published:

  1. Formula verification – We implement the standard formula (amortization, compound interest, XIRR, PMT, FV) and check it against known reference values, not against another calculator site.
  2. Edge case testing – Zero values, negative inputs, extreme terms (1-month loans, 50-year mortgages) are tested so the tool doesn’t silently produce nonsense.
  3. Plain-language explanation – Each page explains what the calculator assumes and where it can be wrong, so you understand the number instead of just reading it.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data, because we don’t collect any. See our Privacy Policy.
  • We don’t give personalized financial or investment advice. See our Disclaimer.
  • We don’t run third-party ad trackers or analytics scripts that follow you across the web.
